Vintage Tissot chronograph with original World Service International Guarantee booklet and copy of the original store receipt. This watch features an Ervin Piquerez SA (EPSA) designed stainless steel compressor case, Lemania Cal. 1872 (Omega 860) manual wind movement and original black and blue dial. The original bi-directional rotating bezel has nice even fading. The crown is original hatched compressor type. The polished stainless steel bracelet is original. The movement serial number dates the watch production date to approximately 1968-1970 and the sales receipt dates the sale to 1978 when it was purchased by the original owner in Puerto Rico.
This Tissot represents one of several variations of this type, often called "Viggen" models, named after the Saab 37 Viggen attack/fighter pilots who were issued the Lemania version by the Swedish Airforce. This Tissot is a civilian version and the bezel is closer to what was equipped on the Lemania chronograph watches issued to South African Airforce pilots. A great article detailing these watches by Matthew Taylor can be found here.
